TNI Commander Submits Purchase of Hospital Ships Next Year

TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto said it plans to increase the number of hospital-type ships (BRS) such as the vessel Dr. Soeharso 990. This is done to meet the public health needs in the outer islands of Indonesia.

Indonesia alone has only one BRS ship, Dr Soeharso 990. Hadi said that his party on the 3rd Strategic Plan (Renstra) of the TNI will propose to the government for the purchase of the BRS Ship.

"Hopefully our 3rd strategic plan is proposed for addition, we calculate according to the strategic plan and the state finance," said the TNI Commander.

Former KSAU added, Dr Soeharso ship equipment facilities are complete and can be changed equivalent to first class hospitals. However, there still needs to be a change of existing equipment to optimize services for society and medical.

"This is a hospital ship that we can set up as a hospital grade 1, 2, or 3, I explained the doctor, everything is complete and there are some equipment that we may change the equipment, because KRI Dr Soeharso is not only for TNI members, but for the people on the foremost island, outer "he explained.

To note, the contents of KRI Dr. Soeharso there is Delta Deck which has a recreation room ABK and there are several rooms ABK right underneath there is the Carlie Deck which is the center of hospital facilities.

There is also a gathering place in case of emergency. In addition there is also under the Bravo Dek which has the capacity to accommodate 500 troops and space for patient hospitalization.
