They are the fastest running mammals in the region. The distance to speed matters for them. They can run up to 6 kms with constant or consistent 50-55 km/hr or 1.5 km for 65 + km/hr and for shorted distances it does a great speed of 85+ Km/hr for 0.8 km. Its often counted as the second fastest land animal after cheetah.

Pronghorns normally live in open and expansive terrains and feed on the herbs and grass and also a wide variety of plants.

One interesting factor of Pronghorns is that the female are dominant and circular relationships. The strong Females tend to displace other females from their feeding ground. The social and the sexual behavior of female differs largely from male Pronghorns.

They Male Pronghorns tend to have a scent gland which is used to attract and indicate the Females. Male will approach the female softly making the vocal sounds and swinging the head in either sides. Here is the interesting part , the Female Pronghorn which is a choose receptive stays motionless and sniffs the scent of the male and only then allows the male to mouth her. Interesting.

These pictures are from Utah Route 128. The Highway is less used and hardly found 10-15 vehicles every hour.
I stopped here for a small group of Pronghorn on one side of the road. Perhaps the best part of the trip into the wildlife.

Below is the Nikon D5300 Camera I used and the settings

Hi there.

I see you have placed a signature on your photos but perhaps you should make it even clearer that they are yours. For example, by ending the post with the model of the camera used?

That's best advice sir 😊 I will do it and will follow 👍
