Is Schooling Really A Scam?

in #esteem5 years ago

Hello everyone! Welcome back again to another beautiful and educating post from @oxygen02. Today's post will be centered on education. That is, the purpose of schooling.

There is a trend among youth these day which is all about the purpose of schooling and to many of them, they have concluded in themselves that schooling is a scam which means they see no reason why we should go to school.

One field of study that try to answer the purpose of schooling is philosophy because it deals with knowledge, ability to think critically and rationally. This field of study have done so well by providing lots of answer to the purpose of schooling and one of it is for certification.

It has now become the tradition in every organisation now that before anybody can be gainfully employed, he/she must be certified meaning he/she must be able to show a school leaving certificate that justify his competency.

Now the problem which now arises in this area is the fact that despite the fact that many people have the certificate which qualifies them to take a certain job, all they could get is no vacancy meaning after taking the rigorous activities and stress of schooling for the sake of getting a good job, all there efforts is now wasted because many of them will later divert to another thing all in the name of survival.

Even at school now, students are now been advised to learn one vocational skill so that when they graduated from school, they will be able to settle down on their own. Well I really love the idea but the question many students has be asking is why do they have to come to school in the first place, instead, they should have go into learning vocational skills properly probably after graduating from secondary school rather than thinking of going to higher institutions for further studies.

Educational pursuit did not even allow for early marriage and this has led to many people getting married lately and at the end, there would be anything to show up for it.

I Don't Think School Is A Scam

Well everyone is open to his/her opinion but in my own opinion, I don't support the idea many people carry about about that school is a scam. Schooling is not really a scam and in fact, it has done a lots of good to our society, they only problem we are just facing is the problem of bad leadership.

I read a short passage in a book during my secondary school days and it was titled Ignorance is not a defense. What this passage is trying to explain is the purpose of schooling. In a society or group of 15 people where we have just only 1 person to be educated among the rest. Such person will be the one to talk on behalf of others and what ever he says will be final. In the passage, only one man was educated and he took possession of all the principal post in that organization. He was the president, general secretary and as well as the financial secretary and this gave him the power to control all the money they contributed and spend it lavishly.

What I am trying to say here is that, schooling goes beyond certification, although it is the major priority but another reason why schooling is very important is the fact that it will make us to be a complete human. It gives us the ability to stand any where, think rationally and control masses. Do not join them to say school is a scam.

Your post does not tackle current problems, and is only a general comment on the logic of needing an education.

The problem in schools in most of the schools worldwide is that they no longer concentrate on education, their main field of interest being indoctrination of our children in corporate marxism and all else that globalism needs for it to succeed.

Actually, the post was not centered on problem facing education rather it was centered on the ideas youths now have towards schooling as a waste of time.

Talking about marxism, it was based on the idea that capitalism will be dethroned by socialist and classless society. Now one of the implication of marxism educational idea is to achieve all round development in learners both in cognitive(head), affective(heart) and psychomotor(hand) which is what the youths should have at the back of their mind.

No. What children should have is education.

Like religion, politicial and social ideologies should be for the adult mind to consider and decide, but until then, it is the right of the parents to promote their beliefs - not of so-called teachers .

Your beliefs in communism/socialism are so weak at facing factual arguments in the day to day living experiences of people, that you feel the only way to ensure you have converts, is to start while they are still in kindergarten?

I'm not disputing the fact that you are making some good point here but mind you, the child don't only need education, he/she also need a good knowledge about the political, social and religion that guide the ethics of the society and all this can also be refers to as education as well. You can read more on my next post that will be post soon.

So, you are saying that if, for example, a moslem family move to a christian country, the child should be taught christianity? ..or hinduism, or...

The parents should not have exclusive right to decide how they want their child to grow up?

Also, all children should now be taught they should become trans?

What has any of the above got to do wih education? I do not remember any politicians running for office on the promise they will take away the traditional rights of parents so as to force-feed all children his own beliefs.

It is always the people who want to force their own beliefs on others who, for some reason, think they are the good guys!

It sounds to me like you believe in globalism (with the resultant deaths of over 7 billion people) so that the Rothschilds, the Bill Gates, the Sorros and so on can be our lords and masters.

No thank you.

EDIT

I think you are mixed up because you are thinking that children need to learn certain things...more than just the 3 Rs. It is only under dictatorship that those subjects are taken over by the State (educational system). I believe in human rights, which socialism does not (it only believes in State rights), so I definitely would not want a socialist influencing the way my child thinks. I'll handle that as the parent and I will get very violent if anyone tries to take away my right to decide for my child until it is an adult.

Then they are free to try all they want...
