Bus Drivers And Their Love For Fuji Music

in #esteem6 years ago

Today's write up is centered on my trip to Akure the capital of Ondo State,I boarded a bus from Lagos, Oshodi garage to be precise and we started the journey at 9:00am in the morning, the driver was generally a big problem to us( passengers) and he kept playing Fuji music very loud.

Also effort to compel him to change the music track proved abortive. Fuji music is synonymous to a particular set of Nigerians, Bus drivers, market women, truck pushers and mostly the regular boys on the street seem to enjoy this genre of music.

But the tune can be annoying to those who don't fancy the Fuji music.

The sound can be deafening if the volume is loud and the lyrics from most musicians that are into this kind of music is inconsistent, and most times meaningless.

The most frustrating part was that before you get him to turn down the music if eventually you are about to answers a call, it take him some minutes into your personal call before he gets to turn down the music.

When the journey started he switched on the car air condition, and the ambience wasn't that frustrating until half way he switched it off, his abysmal excuse was that it was draining the fuel he bought in the bus, and we stood with one voice in protest.
Few kilometers saw him putting on the AC,

The bus driver seems to like food a lot as he stop with little or no excuse at every restaurant along the road to fill his already protruded belly, the more he stops to eat the slower the journey

As a matter of fact he stopped midway to eat 4 times to and it should have been once since our journey was just 5 hours from Lagos to Akure if one should ply the Lagos- Ibadan route.

Worthy of note is that the food he eats is free, as every restaurant provides free meal to luxurious bus drivers Since they are the
ones bring in customers.

But I looked at the sky and I thought to myself this is a beautiful day and I brought out my phone and took a picture just to remind me of the trip.

Well we got to Akure around 5:00pm and we should have arrived earlier say 1:00pm well thanks to the bus driver.

In a note she'll it wasn't really a bad trip, we arrived safely.
