Belitung and Lake Toba Will Become Geopark World

SOME days ago good news in the world of tourism Indonesia sounded. Mount Rinjani located on Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has been established by UNESCO as a geopark of the world or global geopark.
The coronation was sparked during the session of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris, France. Geopark Rinjani officially became a new member of Unesco Global Geopark (UGG) on six days ago, exactly Thursday, April 12, 2018.
Knowing this good news, the government of the Republic of Indonesia, through the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) certainly welcomed and even has set up two other geopark destinations that will follow Mount Rinjani and Geopark Ciletuh as members of Unesco Global Geopark (UGG). Arief Yahya, as Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, said the entry of Rinjani and Ciletuh in the UGG network will facilitate the way the government attracts foreign tourists.

"Rinjani and Ciletuh, that if from the side of tourism so one of the attractions that we must know how to sell it worldwide. If not, it will be difficult to attract foreign tourists, "said Arief in the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) ViWI 2018 in Jakarta recently.
Furthermore, still on the same occasion, Arief also explained, the government through the Ministry of Tourism has been struggling to continue to always promote Indonesian tourist destinations. The entry of two geoparks in Indonesia will make the homeland more known and ogled the world community. Arief explained without being able to enter the UGG network, the government will be difficult to give a nickname to the tourist destination, in order to attract more tourists.
