Fishing Mujair Fish

Mujair fish is a kind of freshwater fish commonly consumed. The natural distribution of this fish is the waters of Africa and in Indonesia was first discovered by Mr. Mujair at the mouth of the Serang River south coast of Blitar, East Java in 1939. Although still a mystery, how the fish can get to the remote estuary in southern Blitar, is named 'mujjair' to commemorate the inventor.

The maximum total length that a tilapia fish can reach is about 40 cm. Flat body shape with black, grayish, brownish or yellow. Her dorsal fin (dorsal) has 15-17 thorns (sharp) and 10-13 radius (soft-pointed spines); and anal fin (anal) with 3 spines and 9-12 radius. Mujjair fish have a great tolerance to salinity (salinity), so it can live in brackish water. This type of fish has a relatively fast growth rate, but after adult this speed will decrease.
