If you haven't seen the Tyler Perry produced movie **ACRIMONY** I should say you are missing out on something really great. First personally I've been a huge fan of anything Tyler Perry from the unset. I love his stories and his delivery, personally I consider Him one of the very best when it comes to realtime stories. ![acrmoneyert.jpg]()

The Movie

The word Acrimony Dictionary definition This word strangely brings to mind other similar-sounding words such as “ alimony” and “ palimony” but while these two words are synonyms , “acrimony” is in a different semantic league as it describes an emotional state of a
betrayed lover. Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary describes acrimony as “angry bitter feelings or words.”
This is an encapsulation of what happens in toxic relationships. Words in dictionaries are mere words until they are pungently dramatized on the stage of our emotions, then the real meanings emerge and give us dimensions of interpretations and
essence. Tyler Perry feels at home dramatizing “acrimony” in a powerful way, in the way many of us –men, women and even children – can
understand.
Reference

The movie acrimony starred the likes of Taraji P. Henson as *Melinda Gayle* ,Crystle Stewart as *Diana*, Lyriq Bent as *Robert*

The movie is an excellent embodiment of too many emotions. Hate, love, obsession, unforgiveness, desires. I personally consider it a movie of extremes. I'll try as Much as possible not to narrate the whole movie here but would just state the lessons that should be learnt from the movie.

Love

The movie shows how deep a woman's love can be and its also a good explanation of the saying that

Hell knows no fury like a woman scorned

Women have different way of dealing with infidelity and betrayals in relationships its individually dynamic. Some are patient and can look over some things in order to let peace reign others are like time bombs others would just hold it up like nothing is wrong but when the find a perfect opportunity you'd wish they had reacted sooner. Its left to you to understand which your spouse is. I'm not justifying infidelity but in case you are caught know when's best to go home and how best to react.

# Patience I wouldn't condemn Melinda as a woman who isn't patient but her problem was she always let her anger becloud her sense of judgement which never turned out well for her. Don't make decisions when you are Angry and when you are happy. Research has proven that human being has the tendencies to take risky decisions in state of emotional euphoria. Try to look at things from a different angle before taking a decision.
# Don't judge people by their past mistakes

Mistakes has a way of putting a stigma in the eyes of people when someone fall short once or twice before. The same way you don't keep your money around a guy who has stolen it once before or you won't leave your friend who formerly was a harlot hanging around you husband. But we should be cautious and also try not to be judgmental in our perception of people. People change, give them opportunity to we all make mistakes.

# be careful who you listen to

Melinda in the movie listened to her sister at a time she should have trusted her husband and atleast hear him out and she suffered for just that mistake of listening to the wrong person. Not everyone has your interest at heart even those you call confident might just be envious of you. take your time, listen to advice and then listen to your heart too. Your heart will never fail you.

# Conclusion Get a dream, hold on to it as if your life depends on it because it actually does. Life happens to us all but its does who gets up and keep fighting that gets the best outta life. Is it worth the risk? Hell yeah! Reach for the stars... Surround yourself with those that pushes out the best in you and flee from those that gives you reasons why you cannot make it they might be in form of parents, siblings. Friends, family and anyone the might seem to have your interest but always remember >everyone has got his own devil.
Yes! Now back to the movie, at some point towards Melinda's frustrated end I got angry and thought she needed to be jailed. Am I the only one who feels her sisters (especially the older one) deserves some pain too?
I would rate the movie a 6/10 Thanks for reading Written by @josefpius
