In this post I want to discuss about meugang tradition that exist in rencong land (Aceh).
Before I explain, anyone knows? all friends stalk, what is the tradition meugang ???

Meat traders during the day meugang Aceh people have a special welcome tradition of the holy month of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, and Eid al-Adha, which brings the tradition, or the Acehnese call Mak it meugang. This meat-eating tradition is held by Acehnese people three times a year. Two days before Ramadhan, Idul Adha, and Eid al-Adha, the Acehnese buy beef for cooking which is then eaten with the family. The meugang tradition that has been going on since the time of the young Sultan Iskandar.

Generally, Acehnese people who roam elsewhere (still in the Aceh region) return home to celebrate meugang with their families.
The purpose of meugang is to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, Idul fitri and Eid al-Adha.
All aceh communities from children to parents are very happy with the tradition of mak meugang.

Usually the price of meat on the day meugang soaring, if usually the price of meat sekilo Rp.150. 000, on day meugang up to Rp.180.000 per kilo gram.
Although sold at high prices, but not a problem for the people of Aceh, because long before meugang arrived, the people of Aceh are preparing to buy beef.

Not only to buy meat, aceh people also buy chicken and fish as an additional menu that will be eaten on the day meugang.
Beef is cooked into several dishes, usually aceh cook it cooking keu eung (boiled spicy meat) and cook puteh (cooking using many spices without using chili).

For the people of Aceh, meugang without buying meat is incomplete, each family usually buy one to three kilo grams of meat to eat with his family.
Meugang is considered to have a religious value among the people of Aceh, because it was done at a time that is considered sacred for Muslims.
