In the past, when the rice harvest (Keumukoh) children my age is very cheerful because that's when we can play the field while raising the kite. Yes, that moment we call the kite season (Musém Layang), everyone from the children up to the aged race to make the kites, the bigger the air kite the more flatter also the maker. Moment is the most beautiful moment, where the Child can be so familiar with his father, fly the kite together, unravel the thread, roll up the thread, to catch a broken kite. All of it provides an unforgettable memory.

Playing traditional games is always fun. Especially if the game is a hereditary tradition. For a traveler whose childhood is skipped with a variety of traditional games, certainly no stranger to the kite. Yes, the toy made of bamboo and oil paper is so attached to the warning.

Laying strong inherent in Aceh people like Timphan, no doubt the people of Aceh also has a form of traditional kite, namely; Kite buleun and Layang Aceh. It is said that the langgar buleun is the kite whose tail is made to resemble a crescent shape (in Aceh buleun) and Layang Aceh is a kite whose tail is tufted like a flag.

The kites in Aceh are sometimes not only played during Musém Layang but also played in important events such as August 17, when Indonesia's independence day is held kites or usually we call it Geulayang Tunang. In Aceh, there is a kite flying contest called Geulayang Tunang, which is usually done after harvest.

In Aceh there is a special kite called Geulayang Tunang. It looks like an airplane and is large enough. Geulayang Tunang has become a tradition of kite game from generation to generation with the same name and usually played after harvest. The Gamelan Tunang is a traditional game of Aceh, where the kite is told which kite is the highest fly in the position of the perpendicular thread then the kite owner will be the one who will But now, Geulayang Tunang is often played in order to greet the big day and even contested like Independence Day 17 August. It's a shame now that the overwhelmingly overpassed Muses who passed so easily, the children that Meuen kite can now be counted on the fingers, unlike my childhood, the Musém kite is so festive, exciting, and excited. I am really concerned about this, children are now neglected by modern games, no one likes the traditional game and gradually the traditional game is just a name no longer play it. Perhaps we Acehnese must establish an Aceh Traditional Gaming Community to continue to preserve traditional games such as; kite, geunteut, canci meusom, cancell ball spill, peucah pireng, etc ..
