3 Maluku Ethnic Residents Dead of Famine, TNI Down Hand

The famine hit the remote Mausu Ane tribe in Central Maluku. The TNI intervened to deal with the problem which led to the death of three residents of the Mausu Ane tribe.
Pangdam XVI / Pattimura Maj. Gen. Suko Pranoto has ordered to explore and verify the truth of the information related to the famine. He asked TNI troops to act quickly by sending personnel Kodim 1502 / Masohi to help and visited the area where Mausu Ane tribal domicile and provide logistical assistance in the form of food and medicine.
Kodim 1502 / Masohi with Koramil 1502-05 / Wahai as the closest regional unit, has now been on site after traveling for 8 hours from Masohi City. However, due to the constraints of limited transportation facilities, Kodim 1502 / Masohi can only provide initial assistance in the form of 40 boxes of instant noodles and 44 bags of rice to the tribe of Mausu Ane who has arrived in Siahari Village, East Seram District, Kobi, Central Maluku District .
"The tribe of Mausu Ane is an isolated or nomadic society in which they can only be met by an intermediary one of them is the King of Maneo Low Country," said Dandim 1502 / Masohi Lt. Col. Harisandi Krishandoko in a written statement from 16 Pattimura Pendram received by AFP on Tuesday (24/7/2018).
Harisandi also coordinated with the Head of Siahari Hamlet, Anton Katipana and Rev. Siahaya to take quick steps to provide logistical encouragement. It was agreed that the Mausu Ane tribe community would hold a meeting in Siahari Hamlet and take emergency response assistance from the TNI, today, Wednesday (25/7) at 11.00 WIT.
"For information, currently Kodam XVI / Pattimura has also prepared a medical team from RST Dr. Latumeten and basic food assistance from Bekangdam XVI / Pattimura and transportation support Heli Bell 412 EP, BKO Kodam XVI / Pattimura to accelerate the encouragement of logistical assistance to the Mausu Tribe Society Ane, "he said.
