chatting with your wife
Rasulullah ﷺ used to chat with his wife before bed. Sharing, talking and finding solutions together with household problems. Regarding children's education, affairs with family and neighbors or just joking. Know, all the games and the joke is a vanity and neglect, except joking with the wife, joking with the wife is right and rewarded.
Rasulullah ﷺ said
كل شيئ يلهو به ابن آدم فهو الحق.
Everything that the Son of Adam's play is infallible, except for three things, releases an arrow from his bow, horseback riding, and jokes (mula'abah) with his family, for that is their right. .
Al-Khattabi rahimahullah said,
قال الخطابي: في هذا بيان أن جميع أنواع اللهو محظورة, وإنما استثنى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم.
In this hadith there is an explanation that all types of games that can neglect is forbidden. Rasulullah ﷺ exclude it .
