They are trying to reduce their work, by increasing our own efforts. I now need three separate tabs to keep steem functional on my computer!

It is panning out well. The Journalist-io and wekuteamworld have really panned out well. I had one post over $90 there. I have been in the top 12 four times in the last couple of weeks, including top stories twice.
