Starbucks will be accepting bitcoin in their stores by end of year.
Starbucks and Microsoft are partnering together in such a way that they will be able to accept Bitcoin as payment and convert this is payment to fiat.
This is quite a departure from their CEO saying how much crypto’s were silly/stupid.
In fact, Starbucks was quite adamant in their proclamation of how they “wanted to be on the leading edge in working with customers and bitcoin”.
They suggested this will be up and running in November.
So I guess we will see our first big global retailer in conjunction with Microsoft take the crypto first step.

Actually Starbucks has been ahead of the curve on cryptos because I have already used Bitcoin to buy my Mochas at Starbucks years ago! Back then I used the coinforcoffee website. That website is down today, but I hope Starbucks kept those Bitcoins I used to pay because they are worth a heck of a lot more these days, possibly one reason why they are getting into Bitcoin!

wow nice, when crypto is spendable it becomes a real currency. Hopefully SBD will be accepted at Starbucks too
I think your wallet will have atomic swap capability so whatever you have it can swap to what the reatailer accepts :-)

McDonald's now Starbucks can't be more mainstream.
But here is the secret, they are advocating a network which is NOT the Lightning network....which IMHO will be the predominant network. They are looking for a way to make money from fees and “front end” what is coming.
