somewhat logical

True, a hero does not always have to win. They often lose, even die. Including superheroes. The comic artists and filmmakers I think have thought of this with enough to keep improvising; remodel and develop scripts. Although they then often have to look for a "somewhat logical" argument to revive it; because the reader or viewer should not be left behind. That's what happens to many superhero stories. Superman once died, Batman never died, The Flash let alone, so did Captain America and Wolverine. In "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", Superman was killed while trying to save the world from Doomsday - the monster from the realm of death that Lex Luthor created from the body of Gen Zod through genetic engineering. This idea, "Superman is Dead" is not a new idea. DC first published it in Issue # 75 (Vol 2) in 1992 under the title "The Death of Superman" which soon gained great success as well as gaining broad spotlight from media and comic lovers.
