  1. To remove mess or clutter from (a place).
  2. To organize and prioritize (one’s commitments, material possessions, etc.)

Just like our closet, cabinets, stores need cleaning and free up of space also our minds which is the of faculty of our consciousness, perception, thinking, judgment, memory to need tidying up too from time to time. It simply get rids of Decluttering of the mind is important because it bring about clarity, focus, peace and balance in life.

So times the mind is clutter with thoughts that overwhelm and some of the signs of you that is associated with clutter are; loosing connection with yourself, forgetting important dates, loosing concentration, bothering about the future; reflecting about the past; keeping a mental to-do list; complaints etc. it means your mental space has been muddled and the mind is waving a red flag pleading for a free space.

    Most time our attention are divided among several activities; writing your articles, social media alerts, working on projects at same time decrease creativity and productivity, hence it increase stress. Decluttering here is simply depict that you take one activity at a time give it the needed attention, with this your creativity will be enhanced.

  • Specific goals will be effectively realized
    When matters pile up in the mind, it is a constant reminder of thing that is not yet done and we keep them, it might be something good but it has become a clutter. For example, you have a skipping rope you keep in the corner to remind you or skipping every morning but if you have not use it to skip for months it become a clutter and instead of it being an object of motivation it become objects of guilt and shame any you see your eyes on it. Letting clutter go might be easy because have a reason for keeping it but it is not inspiring you but make having feeling of shame then you get rid of it. Of what importance having many projects on hand and you find it hard to bring them to a successful completion.

Some ways of decluttering the mind

  • Set Priorities: Learn to prioritize projects, assignments... for this will make available more mental space to be committed to those you have prioritized. Choose to focus on the things which are most important to you; make a short list of them

  • Avoid Multitasking: Try to see an apartment that is clutter and you want to tidy it up, you would probably start by choosing one important area. Your the mind like the apartment that is cluttered, concentrate on a certain issue one; the most important one, devote your time and energy to it and if any other and if any other try get your attention way mentally push it off and concentrate on the task on hand.

  • Amount of Information coming to you should be limited: Too much intake of information from newspapers, blogs, and magazines; watching TV, engaging in social media, surfing the web on your phone and so on could clog the mind. Information overload bring mental stress. The best way to go about this is by deciding what information is relevant to you and disregard everything else.
