Marang Fruit
The marang (Artocarpus odoratissimus) is a fruit tree native to Mindanao, Philippines and some parts of Palawan and Borneo. Like the durian, it has this weird smell but less pungent. A cousin of the jackfruit, its soft and sweet flesh is wrapped in a thick and thorny exterior.Source
It looks thorny, but it's not the sharp thorns. You won't get pinched like the Durian fruit when you hold it.
The seed of a Marang are also edible. You can let it dry outside and cook it. It's taste is just like you're eating a peanut. Delicious and nutritious too.
