The difference between a butterfly and a moth.

At this meeting we will discuss the differences between butterflies and moths, at first glance when we see moths are very similar to butterflies even before I myself do not know if the moth is not a butterfly.

There are some differences between butterflies with moths, even for moths themselves can be said to be one of the pests for farmers.

The Difference between Butterflies and Moths:

The wings on the Butterflies tend to fold the wings vertically over their backs when it comes to a place and the wings on the butterflies have more attractive colors. While the Moth tends to still open its wings when perched on a place as well as the wings on the moth has a boring color.
Moths have a Frenulum that combines the rear wing so it can work together during flying and serves as a "clutch" wing, while Butterflies do not have Frenulum.
Butterflies are primary diurnal animals or animals that are active during the day. While the moth is a nocturnal animal or actively flying at night but there are also active moths during the day and there are also active butterflies at dawn and dusk.
Cocoon / Chrysalis on Moth is usually made of silk. While the shape of the Butterfly cocoon is more complicated, smooth, and does not have a silk cover.
The Butterfly Antenna is shaped like a stick with a bulge at the end. While the antenna on the Moth shaped like a comb.
Butterflies have compound eyes while the Moth has single and compound eyes.
Abdomen in Butterfly is long and thin while in Moth is short and fat
At the time the Butterflies are still in the form of a caterpillar, the caterpillar has a spiny or smooth body, it does not cause itching, has no horn on the tail, has osmetrium, and has eight pairs of legs. While on the caterpillar Moth has hair or smooth, it can cause itching, has horns on the tip of the abdomen, has no osmetrium, and has varying number of legs (different every family).
