The Sagu Beetle is a species of beetle that is widespread from India to Sauwa, following the spread of its host. The body is reddish-brown or black, as big as a walnut. Long muzzle tapered back and forth.The larva of the thumb of the hand, sometimes larger. The small head is dark brown, the skin is wrinkled. Larvae and adult beetles eat a decaying sago stalk pod. Long cocoon of durian seed, yellowish-white, wrapped in woven sago fiber. This beetle is encountered also on coconut trunks, aren, salak and chirai, often called kerenannya beetle coconut.
