Xenophobic attack: Zambia cancels friendly against South Africa

Football is supposed to be a game enjoyed by all with a heart of sportsmanship. But the ugliness of the real world, as recently seen in South Africa, is threatening to erode this following cancellation of the scheduled friendly match between South Africa and Zambia by the Football Association of Zambia.

This recent action by the Zambian football body is in protest to the ongoing Xenophobic attack happening in the country.

The decision comes after a series of violent clashes between South Africans and foreign nationals which has resulted in the reported deaths of five people, with 189 people arrested as foreign-owned shops and businesses were ransacked in broad daylight.
