Bank Indonesia (BI) Lhokseumawe Representative Office inaugurated a reading corner in Lhokseumawe 1 High School. The reading corner named BI Corner is the assistance of BI in the Dedication program for the Country. The inauguration activities took place in the Library building at SMA Negeri 1 Lhokseumawe. The inauguration of the BI Corner was also coupled with the inauguration of the Lhokseumawe 1 High School School Literacy Team (SLT).
The inauguration of the BI Corner was conducted by the Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office Lhokseumawe, Yufrizal, which was marked by the signing of the handover document BI Corner between BI and SMAN 1 Lhokseumawe. The signing of the handover document BI Corner was carried out by the Head of Bank Indonesia Representative Office Lhokseumawe, Yufrizal and Head of SMAN 1 Lhokseumawe, Nurasmah witnessed by Acting. Head of the Lhokseumawe City Education and Culture Office, Nasruddin.
The head of the BI Representative Office Lhokseumawe, Yufrizal, in his speech hoped that the BI Corner could help SMAN 1 Lhokseumawe in driving school literacy. The presence of BI Corner is expected to motivate students of SMAN 1 Lhokseumawe so that they can improve student learning outcomes. In addition, it is also expected to be able to improve students' literacy skills, especially literacy in reading and financial literacy. BI positions themselves as an education partner with schools in the hope that it will play a role in motivating students to have a high learning spirit. The ultimate goal is so that students become successful people in the future.
The head of SMAN 1 Lhokseumawe, Nurasmah also confirmed the Literacy Team of SMAN 1 Lhokseumawe. SLT SMAN 1 Lhokseumawe is chaired by Lina Fajri. His representative is Mukhlis who is also the Chair of Ti Literacy of the Ikatan Guru Indonesia (IGI) in Lhokseumawe City. SLT is also assisted by Rohana and Hamdani. Nurasmah asked SLT to work professionally according to their main tasks and instructions to advance the school through the literacy movement.
Head of Education and Culture of Lhokseumawe City, Nasruddin strongly supports and appreciates the SMAN 1 Lhokseumawe school literacy movement (SLM). Moreover, SLM is a national program that must be implemented by schools. SLM is expected to be able to increase the reading index of students that lead to improving the quality of education in Lhokseumawe City.
