Dtube is Sucking Me Dry for No Reason
It does not seem like @dtube is a good place for @bxlphabet to post exercise videos. Or any videos! Scroll down this 14 days of feed and take a look. He only posts with:
- Esteem
- Busy
- Dtube
Other than the ok - but not great - votes on the recent introduction video, dtube is the clear loser.

So wow! This was a shock. In terms of time, the videos were not too bad to create. About 75% were already on you tube. The steps I took were:
- Downloading them
- Canva posters
- Text
- Upload to dtube
Thanks to @mariannewest, I found the trick of compressing videos with yt. Once I do that, the videos go up to dtube quickly now.
I want to cross post anyway with the new ones.
But I could be doing busy and esteem posts instead and just embed the yt videos. Done!
These darn things are not a hit anyway.
The action on the new @fitinfun food blog is much better.
If you scroll back up and look, you will see that the video topics are:
- PTSD and Weight Loss PTSD related
- Easy exercise
- Health related
It seems like no one is interested in these topics, but I know some are since I talk to you in comments.
And the ptsd material is going crazy out on fb. I guess I am one of few who will even talk about this subject these days. People hide ptsd - both victims and families. I get big long replies out there with people wanting to talk to me about their ptsd story.
And I tweet all these videos with appropriate hashtags. ZERO votes from @dtube or Nathan. Whats up with that? What am I doing so wrong that not even one of them has a good vote. I must really suck.
And then! There's the whole effort of reading posts and checking videos in dtube to try to figure out what version of the z words and the snap words and how many 7's to put in the tag. Are we still a family or are we now a link? I do not know but:
- If you call yourself a family, people think they cannot come in or that you are a cult.
- And link is already taken by LinkedIn.
But, whatever, just tell me what to do, I do not like to have to keep figuring it out.
We need a "Daily family7znaplink" post to go to quickly to see what we have to do now. Let @iamjadeline write it since she can apparently keep up.
I have no wifi time for this effort and I do not enjoy it and it takes time from so many more inportant tasks. But I "have to" know it before I post, and look! No votes lol.
I think I should just do the twitter stuff for the dtube project and skip the videos. At least for this poor blog.
@bxlphabet would be so sad! He did not like much here on STEEM, but he liked his upvotes!
Action Steps
- I will post my intro video for @fitinfun on time.
- I will review the other two blogs just as I have done here to see the results.
I will do those two steps in the next 48 hours and then decide how to proceed.mMy best guess now is that I am out the door from dtube, but you never know.

Minnow Tips after One Week from fitinfunfood
I think DTube is only worth it if you have a following in the DTube crowd. Otherwise, especially if you have limited internet, it is better not to.
I say it must be a passion, the creation of video content is something I live for now. May not be the right choice for all but I have found many ways to therapeutically express myself through my creations which has been IMO what has brought the best responses for me!
The limited internet is a major hurdle, I am very lucky to be able to afford extremely good internet and you are right if the connection you have is not sufficient you may as well not bother! Especially since we are seemingly moving towards a system of users host in their own files and files of other, true decentralization!

Every Steem DApps have its own set of users with their own preference of content, although, I don't see any evidence for it yet, but It seems, the users tend to go to certain dapps and stay their, and upvote more content there, based on factors they only can asnwer.
Having low votes on dtube only means that, maybe but not quite sure, is that users of that dapp is not yet ready for that kind of content.
It would better @bxlphabet to post our content to the dapp we get more upvotes and interactions.
Even i cannot use dtube since (I guess) my internet connection cannot cope up with dtube requirement connections. I tried many times to post @dtube and I failed, it always shows certain errors. I stayed away from dtube for many months now.

Choice of content on DTube, new people that like to talk like me which I may be able to help find success.
@guruvaj Errors on DTube are common and usually a solvable situation, say you have the intention to try again I could try help you with this. Look at me go loyalist trying to help 😅
I also believe in choosing the dApp that supports you most thus I stick with DTube, taken a long time to earn that support and I honour them by continuing forward supporting others who also try!

DTube is a tricky nut to crack and if it’s adding to your expenses more so then your rewards then it may not be right for you!
It took me a long time of consistent posting to get any recognition but one thing I know, the DTube community doesn’t like old content from YouTube only original content created for DTube which is all I do and may be the reason for much of my support. Cross posting isn’t an issue with current or new content within a timely manner so you could continue to use YouTube for video compression and submit to DTube shortly there after.
The other aspect is doing things for the sake of votes, I have proven that no matter if I receive support or not I continue creating what I want when I want to. Not trying to support myself in anyways from the platform helps but I have seen the moment someone starts questioning whom is being supported the support leaves the questioner very quickly! The act of video creation simply put is a therapeutic outlet for me and that is the only value I need to receive to keep creating! If the expense does not at least equal the reward I can understand why you would not want to continue with it!
Now I believe multiple accounts to separate content is a good thing, I have thought about doing it myself for my non DTube posts yet I also recognize I will receive no support on that other account in comparison to this one so I stick to one. Multiple accounts very well may be the reason for a lack of support on your DTube works for this account.
There are ways like you stated to add to the DTube community without doing videos or just focus on where you find success in Steem. I always say just do you but what I have never said is only you can decide, by listening to your heart and not your mind, what doing you really means for you!

So I'm not trying to say why me? But...
Why was this not a big hit? 1 minute video, great topic, excellent title, pretty good video - my face even got in it like everyone likes.
It's not past payout yet, hint hint. Maybe you can ask others why they would not vote for something like this. I have a LOT of 1 minute SE Asia and I thought I would post them - but maybe not. They are just me bumbling around seeing strange things. One from a few weeks ago did well, so I thought I would do these on @fitinfun.

Well it’s hard to say and predict people’s habits, honestly could be something as simple as timing.
I’ll be straight, searching for votes was a mind space I had to get myself out of before I found any acknowledgement for my efforts. It is odd how this platform works, very choosy and much of my support is trickled through one love so it gets the ball rolling but there are no guarantees. My video from today was largely skipped over in comparison to others but long before the votes have even rolled in I was onto my next creation.
People largely want something different each day and thats where building my content from the influences I feel from interacting with the community comes into play for me, touching on subjects at seemingly the right times to be noticed.

I looked into that I think maybe - Do they need you to delegate? This was all too complicated for me, but it really suits all my niches, so I will try to understand again. I've got the content in spades lol.
Why are you involved there? Your niche? And thank you so much for chiming in, @cmplxty. I really appreciate this help.
They ask that you delegate to them a little bit, I think the minimum is 10 sp last I looked. I am mildly involved there, I practice lots of natural methods but don’t have a lot of time to write posts so I follow their trail and comment on things in their group.
I don’t have a particular niche, I’m all over the place but that’s what I like about here there are lots of great niches that you can find.
