Rumah pohon adalah rumah yang terletak di antara dua pohon pinus sebagai penyangga, kayunya kokoh dan posisinya sangat bergantung. Tahura Pocut Meurah Intan merupakan taman hutan raya yang didalamnya terdapat puluhan jenis flora dan fauna dilindungi. Wisatawan juga bisa menemukan air terjun alami didalam taman hutan.

Penamaan taman hutan ini diambil dari seorang tokoh Aceh bernama Pocut Meurah Intan. Pocut Meurah Intan adalah seorang wanita yang berasal dari keturunan bangsawan Kesultanan Aceh yang juga berperang melawan Belanda. Ia dikenal sebagai wanita pemberani yang tidak tahu menyerah.
Selama hidupnya, dipersenjatai hanya dengan rencong, Pocut Meurah Intan dengan berani sekali melawan 18 tentara spesial Belanda yang disebut marsose. Tertangkap, dilemparkan ke dalam penjara oleh tentara Belanda dan terluka parah sampai dia menderita cacat permanen di kaki. Keberanian Pocut Meurah Intan akhirnya diabadikan oleh pemerintah daerah sebagai nama taman hutan ini.

The naming of this forest park was taken from an Acehnese named Pocut Meurah Intan. Pocut Meurah Intan is a woman who is descended from the nobility of the Acehnese Sultanate who also fought against the dutch. He is known as a brave woman who does not know surrender.
During his life, armed only with rencong, Pocut Meurah Intan boldly against the 18 special Dutch soldiers called marsose. Caught, thrown into prison by Dutch soldiers and severely injured until he suffered a permanent disability on foot.
