Honey bee

Honeybees are a rich benefit social insect, all of which are produced by honey bees known to be efficacious for health. In the classification of the animal world, bees are included in the Hymenoptera order which means "clear wings". In this order there are 100,000 species of insects, including bees, wasps, ants and termites.

There are 7 known species of honey bee: Apis dorsata, Apis Laboriosa, Apis Mellifera, Apis Florea, Apis Andreniformis, Apis Cerana and Apis Koschevnikovi. Recently discovered new species of honey bee that is Apis Nigrocincta in Sulawesi and Apis Nuluensis in Kalimantan. With the discovery of two new species, the type of bee that has been reported is nine.

Apis Dorsata (giant bee, forest bee, gung bee, odeng, sialang honey) is a honey bee whose life is still wild. This honeybee is still difficult to cultivate because in addition to its aggressive and fierce, the location where the nest is often located in a very high place. The nest can be found hanging from branches of trees, attics, or steep rocky hills. One colony inhabits a comb in which the size can be very large. In one tree there can be 5 - 10 colonies. The main products of Apis Dorsata are honey and the night with honey production reaches 10 -20 kg per colony per harvest. In fact, from large nest production can reach 30kg. The resulting honey is called forest honey.

These black bees can live in the plains of 0-1000 meters above sea level and only grow in subtropical and tropical regions of Asia such as Indonesia, the Philippines and other Asian countries.
