RE: Surfer update brings Point Rewards

in #esteem5 years ago

I'm trying to understand something. How is it that your article (this one) is earning significantly more than another article you wrote -- which has approximately the same engagement?

Particularly, this article: https://steemit.com/esteem/@good-karma/updated-esteem-mobile-2-1-for-ios

It's nearly the same engagement, as far as votes and comments are concerned. But earnings are night and day. What's the differing factor? Does the system also take into account "views"?

Sort:

Probably has to do with the fact that more people with higher Steem power than that other post.

As in, people with more SP commented on the higher paid article than the lower paid one? Okay. That makes sense, I suppose.

But it just seems like similar engagement though. One post has 723 votes and 20 something comments. The other has 703 votes and 20 something comments. Could the quality of SP commenters have changed so drastically between posts?

Yup, one high SP vote can give more earnings than 100 low SP votes. So yeah, even if the engagement (number of people) is similar or lower, a drastic change between posts payments can still happen.

Reading the comments from this one and the other. This post definitely has more reward comments so yes.
