This Punai bird in Indonesia is one of the protected animals. The Pigeon Bird, which in English is called Green Pigeon, is a medium to large sized bird and is close to a dove. The spread of the punai bird can only be found on the Asian Continent. Timor Punai bird (Treron psittaceus) is an endangered bird species with the Genting status of Timor, Roti and Semau in Nusa Tenggara.
Most of the feathers are green, including the crown, but for the throat and stump which are yellowish green. The difference between male and female birds in terms of color is on the edge of the wing cover, for male birds the color is bright yellow, and for female birds the color is yellowish white.
