Kadal is a four-legged scaly animal belonging to a group of reptiles. Broadly speaking, the notion of lizards or lizard relatives (English: lizards) also includes groups of lizards, geckos, chameleons, flying lizards, monitor lizards, iguanas and others. Whereas narrowly, the term lizard in the Indonesian language usually refers to a group of lizards that are generally small, scaly shiny, and live on the ground (Ing.: Skink, Scincidae tribe, or generally members of Infraordo Scincomorpha).
So, in general, these lizards include small species such as Lygosoma sand lizards, to Komodo dragons (Varanus komodoensis) that can reach a length of more than 3 m. Scientifically, this large group is known as the suborder or child of the Lacertile nation (= Sauria), part of the scaly animal kingdom (Squamata).
Lacertile children generally have four legs, outer ear holes, and eyelids that can be opened close. However, as an exception, there are also members who do not possess some of these characteristics. Examples are 'snake' glass (glass snake or glass lizard, Anguidae tribe) are legless.
BIOLOGY
In addition to the above-mentioned characters, as well as the reptiles, cold-blooded lizards (that is why lizards often sunbathe) and have scales of various shapes that are awakened from horns. Consisting no less than 40 tribes, lizards have patterns of colors, shapes and sizes are very diverse. Some species have fine-grained scales that look smooth or greasy, although they are very dry because lizards have no pores in their skin to sweat or oil.
Most lizards lay eggs (ovipar), although some have childbearing (vivipar). Also, generally the lizard can regrow the tail or even a broken leg.
Some species of legless lizards, such as glass snakes, for example, have a structure of shoulder and pelvic bracelets in their bodies, although there is no leg. Although similar in shape, these lizards can be distinguished from true snakes because they have eye movers that can be moved, the outer ear canal, and can decide its tail in a state of danger; features that the snake lacks.
Many types of lizards are good tree climbers or fast runners. Some of them can even run on two legs very quickly, just like the world's fastest lizards: the thorny iguana of the Ctenosaura clan.
Certain lizards, such as chameleons, may change color according to environmental or mood conditions. Although most live on land, generally lizards can swim well. Some species, such as monitor lizards, even adapt well in aquatic environments.
HABITAT AND FOOD
Most lizards stay on the ground (terrestrial), while some live infiltrated in friable soil or sand (fossorial). Some are wandering above or on the tree trunk (arboreal). Instead of being an ambush predator, most lizards actively explore the environment to hunt for prey.
Although most species are predatory animals, the lizards really are very varied. Starting from fruits and other vegetable materials, insects, amphibians, other reptiles, small mammals, carcasses, even large lizards such as Komodo dragons can also hunt large mammals, up to the size of deer or wild boar.
Smallish lizards eat a variety of insects such as mosquitoes, flies, moths and butterflies, various insects, earthworms, to frogs and other smaller reptiles. Garden lizards (Mabuya multifasciata) occasionally prey on moored frogs (Fejervarya limnocharis), even likes to climb rugged walls to grasp litters (Hemidactylus frenatus).
LOSS WHO CAN

Until now known two types of lizards that bite proved venomous: the giant crazy lizard and lizard of Mexican beads. Both of these lizard types are living in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. Although there are many myths and legends that circulate about the two creatures, and the fact that their bites can cause serious injuries, but so far there is no record of the deaths that occur in humans due to bites.
Research in Australia has recently shown the possibility of some kind of lizard iguana relatives and lizards have glands can also. Although, if this allegation is true, it may be believed to be no or only slightly harmful to humans, given that these lizards may be removed gradually through the process of chewing their prey, rather than being injected at once in large quantities as in the venomous snake bites.
Previously it was believed that the swelling and irritation that occurs due to the bites of the lizards is due to bacterial infection that accompanies the bite. This is still true in most cases, but research
