Understanding HIV/AIDS

HIV stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus. This virus attacks the immune system and weakens the body's ability to fight infections and diseases. As we know, HIV can not be cured today. But there are treatments that can be used to slow down its development. While AIDS is short for 'Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome'. AIDS is caused by a virus called HIV.

If our bodies are infected with the HIV virus, then the immune system will make 'antibodies', special molecules that attack the HIV virus. While the point of transmission of the virus through free sex, blood transfusion, pregnant women to her baby and through a syringe used interchangeably.

For the people of Aceh Utara, actually not many people understand what is meant by HIV / AIDS. Because based on data, the number of HIV / AIDS pengindap until 2017 was 78 people, of which 27 people who died of the disease and 51 people still survive.

Therefore, with the high number of HIV / AIDS sufferers, the people in North Aceh Regency should already understand what is said by HIV / AIDS and how the transmission process. This needs to be known, because to prevent HIV / AIDS transmission requires knowledge about it.

By understanding how the process of spreading the virus then everyone will be afraid to do things that can cause the attack of the deadly virus. So that there is an understanding of the community about HIV / AIDS then the government agencies, especially the health department should conduct socialization to all levels of society so that the information can be known by the public about the very harmful effects of the virus.

Finally, with the understanding of it can prevent the spread of the virus and reduce the number of people with HIV / AIDS.

HIV merupakan singkatan dari Human Immunodeficiency Virus. Virus ini menyerang sistem kekebalan tubuh dan melemahkan kemampuan tubuh untuk melawan infeksi dan penyakit. Seperti kita ketahui, HIV hingga saat ini belum dapat disembuhkan. Namun ada pengobatan yang bisa digunakan untuk memperlambat perkembangannya. Sedangkan AIDS adalah kependekan dari 'Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. AIDS disebabkan oleh virus yang bernama HIV.

Apabila tubuh kita terinfeksi virus HIV, maka sistem kekebalan tubuh akan membuat 'antibodi', molekul khusus yang nenyerang virus HIV tersebut. Sementara titik penularan virus tersebut melalui seks bebas, transfusi darah, ibu hamil ke bayinya dan melalui jarum suntik yang dipakai bergantian.

Bagi masyarakat Kabupaten Aceh Utara, sebenarnya belum banyak yang memahami apa yang dimaksud dengan HIV/AIDS. Karena berdasarkan data, jumlah pengindap HIV/AIDS hingga tahun 2017 adalah 78 orang, dimana 27 orang yang mengindap penyakit tersebut yang sudah meninggal dunia dan 51 orang masih bertahan hidup.

Oleh karena itu dengan tinggi angka penderita HIV/AIDS, maka masyarakat di Kabupaten Aceh Utara harus sudah memahami apa yang dikatakan dengan HIV/AIDS serta bagaimana proses penularannya. Hal ini perlu diketahui, karena untuk mencegah penularan HIV/AIDS dibutuhkan pengetahuan tentang hal tersebut.

Dengan memahami bagaimana proses penyebaran virus tersebut maka setiap orang tentu akan takut untuk melakukan hal-hal yang bisa menyebabkan terserangnya virus yang mematikan tersebut. Maka supaya ada pemahaman masyarakat tentang HIV/AIDS maka instansi pemerintah terutama dinas kesehatan harus melakukan sosialisasi ke semua lapisan masyarakat sehingga dengan adanya informasi tersebut dapat diketahui oleh masyarakat tentang dampak yang sangat berbahaya dari virus tersebut.

Akhirnya, dengan adanya pemahaman tentang hal tersebut maka dapat mencegah penyebaran virus tersebut dan mengurangi jumlah penderita HIV/AIDS.
