Is Chivalry Really Dead?

The society are often ruled by standards and other rules that sets the pace of a living. Actions are done in accordance of these norms that are also made into such by humans. With the existence of these norms, the way of living was objectified and was already thought to be lived in one way or two. Although it alters the real nature of life, it also paves way to a standardized and smooth way of living. One of these norms is Chivalry.

Chivalry is the character of a knight. It was during the Medieval Age wherein knights jousting, crowds shouting, and royalties are honored were the "thing." They often compare chivalry with being a gentleman. The kind of man who gives women the gentle treatment and prioritizes their well-being. The kind who offers the seat, assists when they need it, carries their bags, treats them so dearly and other things they refer as being "gentle." Chivalry refers to a man who is ruled by his utmost respect and devotion to other people especially to the women.

A question has ruled out during these times. The question that questions the mere existence of what most of us refer to chivalry. Is chivalry really dead? Has it been erased from the society? I don't think so. I think that chivalry turned from objective into being subjective. People thought that it is a century-old etiquette that only lasted for several lifetimes and is not applicable anymore in the present times. Chivalry is still existing, it still lives among men. It is just that men found different ways of showing it or they align their ways to their beliefs and experiences. I'm sick of hearing things that chivalry is dead, it is just so absurd to talk about that. Chivalry is still alive, people!!! It is just there, open those eyes and free yourself from the chains of the world and base your judgment with your own definition of respect. Respect is a personally conditioned aspect of the society even though it is called as the "fountain of all virtues".

I'm not promoting a singular outlook on it but I'm encouraging people to look at it with a prosaic mindset. Thank You, steemians. May this platform live long and last.
