Taking Care of Esport Players
Chinese esports organization Edward Gaming (EDG) announced that it has established an esports health management center exclusively for its players. According to the announcement, the center will focus on four aspects of players’ health: daily diet, physical training, injury rehabilitation, and disease prevention.
EDG started hiring medical staff and psychologists in 2018 to take care of players’ physical and mental health.
“In 2020, esports has developed rapidly, and become more professional like traditional sports. It’s why we want to update our health care system, to set up a management center.” EDG stated in the release.
The goal of this facility, according to EDG’s announcement, is to use the best health management practices to reduce the risk of injury, as well as extending the careers of its players.
