I dabbled in wire wrapping crystals for a while. one of my favorites crystals to use is amethyst, especially banded amethyst. I've also wrapped a couple of clear quartz crystals, they tend to be more difficult to wire wrap because there's less "lumps" to wrap the wire around to hold the crystal.
I've never made a talisman, but I did make a couple of pendulums.
That's very cool. Amethyst is my favorite. I tried to wire wrap a couple, but I need more practice. The smooth surfaced ones are definitely harder to wrap.
