A murderer escapes from prison in Laval
A 58-year-old murderer escaped from a minimum security prison in Laval, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) announced Friday afternoon.
On his Twitter account, CSC reported that Denis Bégin fled the Federal Training Center.
Bégin was serving an indeterminate sentence of imprisonment for "several offenses", including unpremeditated murder.
The fifties is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 180 lbs. He has a scar on his left arm.
Authorities did not reveal how the detainee went about his escape.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Denis Bégin is asked to contact the police department of his municipality.
