EON (EOT) : Decentralizing Gaming and Fostering Game Distribution

in #eot6 years ago

How do you relax after a hard day’s work? Do you visit the cinema for latest movies; watch television or take a walk in cool evenings? I bet you have a device and there are games stored on them. You might probably decide against going to the movies or taking a stroll when there’s entertainment right there on your device – games.
Games have come a long way and have made tremendous impact in our lives. While some might regard gaming as a sort of entertainment; wise ones play games because of its educative tendencies. If you’ve played Temple Run and Subway Surf, you’ll learn how to avoid obstacles. Games are educative and not merely for entertainment.
Let’s come back to you. The games in your device were either downloaded or pre-installed but I’m sure a good number of them were downloaded. The global gaming industry is booming and this is because there are games that span across multiple genres such as Action and Adventure.
I have a surprise for you: Games might soon fade away. Don’t b shocked because that’s what I can make out of the current trend. This is because there are problems in the gaming industry and these problems arose because there were not sufficient games in the market tom meet players’ demands. Let’s look at the problems.

The problem at a glance

For every game on the internet, you’re meant to download them. If you’re an ardent game fan, you must have visited the Play Store and other games stores to download your favorite games.
Would you believe it if I told you that these platforms are part of the problems facing the gaming industry? Games were developed by game developers and sent out to such platforms and in the long run, these developers were stripped of their benefits.
The major problem facing the gaming industry lies in its distribution. Developers are almost depressed with what’s going on and are slowly backing off from developing more games. The few games available on the market are merely upgrades to existing games. You might wonder if developers are lacking ideas; they are not but are simply sad over what’s going on and do not see the need of making further efforts to develop more games.
As I said earlier, the problem facing the gaming industry lies in its distribution and this is because game distribution platforms are making developers go through hell. Thanks to the internet, games are distributed digitally.
Game developers are made to part with about 30% of their income per developed game. This is taken by both advertising channels and game distribution platforms. Isn’t it rather much for someone to spend 30% of his income on tax? That is what developers go through.
For paid games, developers are having hectic time integrating appropriate payment channels that will be globally accepted. Apart from the App Store from Apple Inc, no other game distribution platform seems to have multiple payment channels. So developers are faced with the risk of losing income when their target audience cannot make payment for their games.
From another angle, another problem facing game distribution and the gaming industry in entirety is the centralization of game distribution platforms. So for the gaming industry to survive, immediate steps must be taken to correct these errors.

A Light at the end of the Tunnel

There’s glimmer of hope as the gaming industry will be saved from extinction. There’s a platform known as Entertainment Open Network (EON) protocol. EON will use the blockchain technology in distorting the traditional game distribution.
EON is not limiting its scope to game distribution, it is also looking at improving blockchain gaming. There are already existing platforms that offer blockchain games and EON is set to join the queue in style by introducing a new blockchain game to be known as CryptoAlpaca.

The traditional game distribution platforms we use today such as the App and Play Stores do not cede much power to game developers. They rather keep full access and rights to games to themselves and still charge game developers for the rendered service.
EON is changing all that by using a decentralized approach, the Blockchain in returning power back to the game developer and offering more excitement to gamers. Game developers can now have the right to distribute their games how and when they want and also receive payments for their games.
Game developers don’t necessarily have to part with some part of their income as EON is making sure they get what is accrued to them.

The Dgame Approach

EON is not stopping at making game developers reap from their hard work but is also working towards empowering them to do more. EON is going to use its EON Foundation as a support-base for its blockchain. The atmosphere created here will allow developers build decentralized games (Dgames) to be played on its blockchain.

Technology and Referral System

The Ethereum blockchain will be the footpath for EON. The platform offers secure transactions and effective distribution of games. EON is also set to introduce a new blockchain game experience known as CryptAlpaca. CryptoAlpaca will function as the Blockchain Game 2.0 (second generation of blockchain gaming) and will replace the former – Blockchain Game 1.0.

As a gamer or player, EON encourages you to attain financial success. This it is doing by using its referral system in rewarding players. Developers are not left out too in the referral program. EON rewards you with its token anytime you refer a player to play games on its platform.

Bottom Line

Though there are many blockchain games out there, EON is setting its standard by brining a referral program and offering developers the opportunity to build decentralized games (Dgames).
EON is a good project and is looking for ways to empower developers. Developers can now have reduced cost in advertising their games while enjoying the prospects that come with the decentralized platform offered by EON.
Players/gamers are also taking part in the largesse as they can now have multiple games to choose from; including blockchain games. They also get to earn the EON token anytime they refer another player to the platform. Either angle it is looked from, EON is a platform that both developers and players will benefit immensely from.
