Did you know this about the EOS Blockchain Launch?

in #eos6 years ago

  • Block. One has adopted a novel approach to the launch by 'distributing' its code for testing by different groups among the EOS 'community'.
  • Two main groups have emerged; EOS Core (previously known as 'Ghostbusters') and Bios Boot, each competing to get their version of the EOS blockchain to go live first. Each party has agreed to run with the version that wins the race, rather than to have a situation where there are two versions of the EOS chain.
  • Once up and running the EOS chain will be operated by 21 verifying nodes (elected by EOS token holders) who will receive compensation in EOS coin for verifying transactions.
  • Coindesk reports 'serious tension' between the two groups.

My view:

  • It’s certainly a different way of getting your software out there!
  • The EOS blockchain represents the very latest thinking in how to structure a blockchain that can run smart contracts and maintain a high transaction throughput.
  • Whether it succeeds or fails, EOS is definitely a 'one to watch', alongside the pending Telegram Open Network, which claims to be a 'fifth generation' blockchain, and which recently raised $1.7bn in a token offer, but is some way off from launching an actual network.

Do you think this is one of the big crypto/blockchain events for 2018?

And will it really become a Steemit competitor? Or will most Steemit fans also subscribe to EOS as soon as possible, meaning it will not really be a competitor nor attract a new public?

EOS will be the first Crypto by 2019's end.
ONO (Steemit like app based on EOS) is way more professional and has a great team.
I believe STEEM is great but did not evolve since I joined, has some big issues.
Take care.

I really wonder if EOS will be able to tackle side of the current issues that Steemit is facing? Guess time will answer this question.

Btw do you know what the vote threshold means?
