Block. One CTO: Arbitrator Controversy Damaged EOS Community
Dan Larimer, the CTO who developed the EOS protocol, is strongly in favour of reducing the authority of the controversial EOS Core Arbitration Forum (ECAF), a body that is supposed to resolve disputes on the network.
In cases of disagreements with regard to stolen keys, “no action should be taken”. Instead, he says, the producers should “campaign on using some of their pay for donations” to compensate the victims.
The new proposal comes a few days after a recent order issued by the ECAF required the EOS network’s block producers to lock down 27 accounts that had been hacked. The order had raised serious concerns over EOS’ degree of decentralisation.
