RE: How to Register your EOS Tokens (Exodus, Metamask)

in #eos6 years ago

@coincado My friend can't remember whether he bought on ICO or on an exchange, what to do? If there truly a difference on how they get registered?
I know people who have a mix of them. What should they do?
Thanks @coincado

Hi @streetstyle it only maters where your friend will have his EOS Tokens at the time of the Snapshot (1st of June). If he has them at an exchange that supports the Token Swap (most of them do) he doesn't have to do anything, the exchange will do it for him 🙂 For people who have their EOS all over the place I recommend to move it all to a trusted exchange like Binance, KuCoin or Bitfinix. Then wait until the 48 hour freeze is over and then withdraw the EOS MainNet Tokens to an official EOS Wallet, that way you will get all the Airdrops.

@coincado I am a bit confused.

So leaving them and registering them in Metamask is not good if you don't remember where you bought them or they are mixed? Therefore it is better to place on an exchange like Binance?
Or can you register them and leave them in Metamask?
What will happen if you register ICO Eos but not on the official website?

Hi @streetstyle it doesn't matter where you bought them, it only matters where you have them at the time of the Snapshot. That's why I am saying the easiest way is just to have your EOS at Binance. Exchanges like Binance will be the fastest to do the Token Swap because it is in their financial interest to commence trading as soon as possible. I am doing the same, keeping EOS at Binance, let them swap it, as soon as this is done I will withdraw to the official EOS MainNet Wallet. I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions!

Ok, Got It @coincado , Thanks for the info. I will let others know.
