What is DAOstack and what are its functions?

The DAOstack project is designed to encourage and shape the future of collaboration. It is a platform that allows projects and people to carry out collective actions and organize themselves around shared objectives and values, easily, quickly and efficiently. Therefore, DAOstack is also known as an ideal operating system for collective intelligence; applicable for virtual environments.

The first principle to design DAOstack was not the construction of a specific protocol or a specific application, but the one of building a base from which an entire ecosystem could grow and prosper; in other words, it is based on "simple complexity". When the creators of the DAOstack began the architecture of solutions for decentralized governance, they recognized that, given the complexity of the problem, the best solutions would only arise over time, especially because needs would begin to vary with their use.

Therefore, they designed the DAOstack as a continuous experiment platform, in which different governance modules can be easily combined for each organization, such as LEGO pieces or puzzles.

Collaborative economy

In fact, this is the broader view of the DAOstack. The platform was designed to support an entire ecosystem of decentralized organizations - a community of DAOs, capable of sharing talents, ideas and learning with one another. The DAOs may act as members of other DAOs, creating a fluid "DAOs network" or an "internet of work", in which groups of collectives are formed and where anyone can participate in dozens of different collectives.

Imagine what can be done when tens or hundreds of millions of people participate in this kind of collaborative economy - one in which no one exercises a disproportionate amount of power.

This is not just a pretty positive scenario; but, no doubt, it is necessary. Many futurists believe that the solutions to some of the great challenges of the world, such as climate, poverty, terrorism, nuclear risk; among other topics of global interest, they can only be solved by the power of decentralized collaboration on a large scale, as well as by the generalized change. That is, the substitution of short-term economic incentive structures (or "rivals") - where the success of one means the defeat of another - by collaborative (or "anti-rival") structures - where one's success is the success of another or of several.

Finally, we must point out that the DAOStack is also based, like other contemporary virtual technologies, on intelligent contracts. Understanding intelligent contracts as a business rule based on a computer code. This means that the issues inherent in a contract, in the broad sense of the term, are defined and validated partially or completely automatically.
