On the EOS Blockchain you can use your EOS account to interact with several dApp without sign up again and again, but what about the avatar?

Good idea. Your app will be the best if you cooperate with eos ID. A lot of people in the world have no ID and avatar. Please help them.

EOS accounts are a bit complicated.. because You have to pay to have one.
As EOS dev resources I suggest https://developers.eos.io/ and various Awesome EOS lists
Yeah i know you have to pay one and the account creation fee is quite high.
