The cryptocurrency community is ICO platform EOS from the Creator Steemit and BitShares.
Today, Monday, June 26, kicks off the highly anticipated eagerly krausel platform decentralized applications the EOS, which is believed by some analysts will be able to compete with Ethereum.
The EOS project was announced in may of this year, the conference Consensus 2017 in new York, and one of its masterminds is well-known Dan Larimer behind the creation of BitShares and Steemit.
"Software EOS.IO is a new blockchain architecture for vertical and horizontal scaling of decentralized applications. This is achieved by creating designs in the form of operating system on which can be built applications. The software offers accounts, authentication, database, asynchronous communication, and scheduling of applications on hundreds of CPUs or clusters. The final technology is a blockchain architecture that massturbate to millions of transactions per second, eliminates the custom of the Commission and enables quick and easy deployment of decentralized applications", — stated in the whitepaper EOS.
The developer of the project is registered in the Cayman Islands, the company block.one of which is a co-founder and managing Director of venture capital Fund Future Capital Brock pierce.
Pierce said in a recent interview with Reuters, EOS aims to be a Foundation for business applications in the ecosystem of the blockchain.
-- Criticism and doubt:
Despite the loud statements and a massive marketing campaign before the start of sales of tokens, the project has managed to be criticized by well-known representatives of the cryptocurrency community.
The main doubts are that important technical questions remain unanswered. As you know, EOS is based on the consensus algorithm DPoS (delegated proof of ownership), in which community members delegate responsibility for the verification of the selected transaction "witnesses".
DPoS proponents believe that this algorithm has the potential to reduce transaction processing time, as the process involves fewer nodes. However, many have expressed concerns that this approach opens up opportunities for dishonest players.
Dan Larimer BitShares creating and Steem, had originally planned to bring the platform to the level of self-sufficiency and then pass on to other people.
"I run Steem with the intention of subsequently leaving to develop a platform for smart contracts. I was just the person who developed the idea and started things in motion. Now for Steem meets Steemit, Inc," he says.
Regarding BitShares, then, according to Larimer, he made sure that the project is self-financed and sustainable, and then gave the tools to other people. At the same time, he said, and BitShares Steem and continues to enjoy great interest from users.
