Crypto Lions: Watch out scams! Someone was claiming to be us. | HelloMedia

Hi, we are "HelloMedia". HelloMedia is a Chinese language media platform under HelloEOS which is an EOS block producer. Devoting to become a media deep in serving the EOS ecosystem participants, we will continue to interview those outstanding teams in EOS ecosystem, including BPs, DApp developers, investors, eco-platforms and media. Also, we provide a multimedia platform for those excellent EOS eco builders who contribute to the developing the EOS ecosystem to showcase themselves. This is the original version of the interview. At the beginning of July, some people pretending to be a BP and said voters can get bonuses by voting for them. It was Crypto Lions that the fakers claimed they were. The unwittingly "involved" team Crypto Lions from Ukraine is the third BP Hellomedia interviewed.

HelloMedia: Please tell us about your team and why are you optimistic about EOS? Like why are you intend to be an BP from the beginning?
Crypto Lions: EOS seems like the blockchain that everybody has been waiting for. The performance it gives to Dapps is far ahead of any other chain. It was an easy decision. We've been blockchain enthusiasts for a long time, and we knew we wanted to be a part of the EOS ecosystem once we learned about it.

HelloMedia:We heard that your team is stimulated by some malicious people. Can you tell us about the whole story of the incident?
What did you do to deal with it?
What is the progress of the matter processing now?

Crypto Lions: There have been different incidents, and despite our efforts, we do not know the complete story. First there was "cryptolions2". Someone was using not only our Block Producer name, but also our personal names and faces, claiming to be us. Over 250000 tokens passed through the account named cryptolions2.

We translated some of the documentation they were using. It seems to have been a typical Ponzi Scheme. It's not clear why so many people were fooled into send their money. We have another theory what was happening, but aren't ready to discuss it.

We asked ECAF to investigate. We asked alleged victims to go to ECAF. We posted warning on our website. They are still there. And we used some Chinese outlets, including IMEOS, to communicate with the Chinese community on our behalf.
The CryptoLions2 fraud seems to have stopped. The account is no longer active.

Since then we've seen false claims that we are partners with Super League 1, Super Node, and LT HuaXingFinance. None of these things are true.

We've found several Chinese partners who will help us communicate more effectively, and protect Chinese community members from scams.

HelloMedia:How did this matter impact on you?
Crypto Lions: We're not sure. It probably damaged our name at least a little, because we've received several angry emails. It's important to remember that this isn't just about us. It also harms the long-term value of EOS.

HelloMedia:What do you think of these fraudulent issues in terms of node simulation and name theft?
Crypto Lions: It's bad, of course, and not just for us. We need to protect the community against fraudsters.

HelloMedia:As a BP, What efforts have you made in the area of anti-fraud?
Crypto Lions: We approached ECAF right away. We've encouraged alleged victims to approach ECAF. We posted a big warning on our website. We communicated through some Chinese partner, and have just recently expanded our network of Chinese partners. We've also looked into other options, but we're not ready to discuss them.

HelloMedia:Could you introduce Jungle Testnet?
Crypto Lions: The Jungle Testnet is probably our biggest contribution to the community. We've been running it since Dawn 2.0 in April. It became the main testnet for training new BPs and testing updates to EOSIO. Many core developers took part in the Jungle Testnet to identify fix problems with the code, including Dan Larimer himself. It's also an important resources for Dapps. Several Dapp tested in Jungle before going live. We expect Dapps to become a bigger part of Jungle. You can find us in Telegram: https://t.me/jungletestnet .

We are now looking for strong Chinese partners who can run a Jungle Testnet WeChat channel.

HelloMedia:We would like to know your first impression to the group of Chinese BPs. And what do you think about the Chinese BPs and community？
Crypto Lions: It is difficult to describe the Chinese community as a whole, because the different Chinese BPs seem very different from one another. EOS Asia, Cannon, and Beijing build cool tools. It EOS Gravity and EOS Fish and Huobi have been great communicators. HK EOS seems to be great at testing. They're also developing the referendum contract.
There are a few BPs which are difficult to learn about - Store and FlytoMars and ZBEOES, for example. They seem too secretive.

HelloMedia:Will you talk about your plan in the next phase?
Crypto Lions: In our hearts, we are builders. We're much better at building than communicating. We plan to make big improvements to the EOS network monitor. We plan to continue supporting Jungle, and we've gotten many partners to help us. We will continue supporting Zeos, an account registration portal where you can set up an EOS account using Bitcoin or Ethereum. We are proud to have brought almost 2000 people in the EOS ecosystem using Zeos.

Our next project is Truth Bonds. We want to allow people to make promises and secure those promises with EOS. For example, a BP can guarantee that they'll obey the Constitution, and they can freeze some EOS which they would lose if they break that promise. We think this will make the community more honest.

Even though we are builders, we are also trying to improve our communication with Asia. We are trying to hire a Chinese speaker to work in our office in Ukraine. We are also looking for BP partner who like to join some of our existing projects.

HelloMedia:Finally, do you want to say anything to the Chinese community? In other words, could you give us a reason to vote for Crypto Lions?
Crypto Lions: We create value for everybody by building useful tools, and by running the Jungle Testnet, which seems like the #1 place for testing updates. It's a lot of work. Your support helps ensure that we have the resources to continue, and to create valuable tools.
