No More EOS Trading On Exodus For US Citizens
New patch released today for EOS billed as a security update.
Below is a direct quote from their update release notes.
1.51.1
May 15, 2018
"Security
Our security team has been hard at work behind the scenes and discovered more safety and security precautions to protect your assets. A new version of Exodus has been released immediately ( Version 1.51.1 ) with fixes and security upgrades in place. This security patch was focused on protocols used in Exodus dependencies.
All users need to upgrade immediately."
I have noticed for the last couple of days that EOS was "unavailable" in the exchange. Today I cannot trade any EOS at all. It is now "Unavailable in my jurisdiction"
It is my understanding that US citizens are not permitted to participate in the ICO but it is NOT illegal to own EOS in the US. All of Exodus trading happens on shapeshift. So unless shapeshift is buying coins directly from EOS.IO (and NOT through a 3rd party exchange) I don't see where the problem lies.
Maybe they are just CYA?
Seems if that was their worry, they are kindof late to this party.
Thoughts? Comments?
Thanks for reading my blog.
Carry on, HM
I got some more detail on this one, it is shapeshift causing the problem not exodus

Agreed this is complete bullshit. I love the exodus wallet, the 1-click registration feature was super useful. I get CYA but this is taking things a little too far, time to use a UK proxy I think.
Yeah. Why the hell did they go to all the trouble to make the 1-click so easy and then a few weeks later disable trading EOS altogether? Makes NO sense.
The only response I can give is that they must have been smoking a shit load of crack at the time or they just wanted to mess with us.
Yeah it seems a little ridiculous to knock that feature out now when the launch of the mainnet is less than a month away. That is really silly.
Exodus perpetuating the FUD? WTF?
It's ridiculous to be honest. I'm rending a video now for all the FUDsters doing some work on the EOS Testnet.
One thing I didn't realize until about a week ago is that EOS has 0.5 second block time which is insane. STEEM has 3 Seconds and is a beast at writing all this information to the blockchain. If they can pull off 0.5s blocks that is going to be unreal.
Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold
It appears as though BAT is not tradable there either. I have actually never used Exodus. I have heard good things about it, but BAT and EOS are 2 of my favorite coins, so that sucks. I guess you can still hold them there. I don't trade much anyway
O shit I figured it had something to do with the dac airdrop,It looks like you can still send and recieve but not exchange.
