Host: Hoo Business Specialist----Vicki

Below is the text we organized.

Hello everyone, my name is Syed and I am the CEO of EOS Cafe Block! I would like to thank Hoo Media and the EOSing program for the opportunity to share more about ourselves.

EOS Cafe Block is a technical block producer based out of Canada and focused on creating value for EOS through innovation, technology, and education.

Our Mission:
Our mission is to foster the mass adoption of the EOS blockchain by creating seamless user-friendly tools, generating educational content, and engaging with enterprise and institutions to help them realize the potential of this powerful technology. Full adoption will only come when people find using the EOS blockchain simple and easy, and when real-world institutions trust in the long-term benefits and integrity of the system. We are actively making the lives of current token holders easier with our tools while educating the next generation of users big and small of what’s possible with EOS.

Team Background:
The appeal of blockchain is far-reaching and people from many different walks of life are drawn to its potential for different reasons. Our diverse team hails from a variety of backgrounds; including software developers, financial traders, IT professionals, and civil servants. Despite where they came from all the members of our team are working tirelessly to help make our joint vision a reality

Accomplishments:

  • We developed the first Ethereum to EOS fallback tool: eoskey.io;
  • We developed the first NFT standard and contract for EOS with UNICO: eosio.nft;
  • We continue to provide technical help to games like Wizards.one, EOS Knights and EOS Bet a success;
  • We developed one of the most popular block explorers globally: bloks.io;
  • We also have the most comprehensive EOS wallet for token holders: bloks.io/wallet;
  • We are currently working on providing a DEX through Bloks, through a partnership with FINDEX.

We have over 50 000 monthly users on all our tools and this number is growing exponentially!

I would like to share a bit more about Bloks.io. It is one of the most popular EOS Block Explorer and wallet in the Western World, and I hope all of you will use it too!

Bloks.io has the following Block Explorer Functionality:

  • Live EOS Monitor (with all block producers);
  • Live transaction monitor (with filtering on accounts/actions);
  • Voting Portal (Block Producers, Proxies and upcoming Referendums);
  • EOS Tokens list and marketcaps;
  • Full account data;
  • Onchain blacklists and BP Jsons;
  • Complete chain data including RAM, CPU, NET limits;
  • Execute any action on any contract using scatter.

Bloks.io has the following Wallet Functionality with Scatter and Lynx:
-Transfer tokens;
-Create account from exchange withdrawal;
-Create account from existing account;
-Manage RAM / CPU / NET;
-Create and register proxies;
-Full Permissions manager, where you can set delays for permissions.

Please support our tools like Bloks.io and projects that we advise including Karma, Unico and Dabble!
Recently, we have been seeing lots of issues with CPU.

There are mainly 2 ways to deal with these issues, vertical and horizontal scaling:
-With vertical scaling, we can optimize things like resource algorithms (doubled recently), multi-threading, optimize the code, etc.
-With horizontal scaling, we can create new sister and side chains, which can hopefully interoperate through inter-blockchain communication (IBC);

Many people wonder what is the difference between sister chain and side chains?
A.sister chain is a blockchain that uses the EOSIO software, but uses its own token like WAX for resources
A sidechain is a blockchain that uses the EOSIO software and the EOS token for resources

Sister chains allow more flexibility with the software, and the ability to create special use case blockchains. Let's take for example Worbli, one of the biggest EOS sister chains, built as a blockchain for financial services.

In the Worbli blockchain, RAM is proportional to how much WBI (native Worbli tokens) you own. If you own 10% of all WBI, you own 10% of all RAM of the network. This is a very different approach from mainnet.

The great thing about Worbli is that they take an airdrop snapshot of EOS holders to distribute a large portion of their tokens to for free. Other chains like WAX have chosen to only use the EOS software and not airdrop their tokens. We strongly support sister chains like Worbli that distribute their new blockchain tokens to mainnet holders!

Q&A:

  1. What do you see EOS’s price in the future?
    I see that in the short term there is uncertainty around EOS price, but I strongly believe that with the continuous technological advancement of EOS, the price will continue to rise in the long term!

  2. Except DApp or centralized exchange imported to wallet, what else applications can be used to revive EOS?
    We need an EOS based social media platform like steemit, that will revive EOS!

  3. You mentioned “In the Worbli blockchain, RAM is proportional to how much WBI (native Worbli tokens) you own”. Do you mean that RAM in Wordbi is another separate system and different from EOS?
    Yes, RAM in Worbli will be a proportional system and will not have Bancor market.

  4. Is EOS blockchain or cloud server?
    EOS is 100% a blockchain. The recent report is a paid marketing scheme by Consensys to harm EOS.

  5. As we know, blockone will release the EOS official wallet, how do you think about it? What changes will the official wallet bring to the EOS ecosystem?
    Yes, I have seen the block one wallet demo, it will bring security and reassurance for the common investor that wants a safe, secure wallet that can interact with all DApps like scatter. The new wallet will integrate easily within all DApps and provide an easy on boarding route for new users onto EOS

  6. How does rex help EOS? Can it completely solve the problem of insufficient CPU?
    REX lets users who have unused EOS to rent it out, similar to Chintai, but with more benefits for voting and etc. REX is very beneficial for the ecosystem.

  7. How do you add value to EOS ecosystem? Will you create or lead projects? Or will you take pains to construct community?
    We do lots of community building projects, including local meetups to help promote EOS, leading EOS education initiatives, regular articles teaching about REX, permissions, etc. As mentioned earlier, our BP EOS Cafe Block is focused on technology, education, and adoption. We are very strong on technology and education, and we are working hard on having more general public adopt EOS.

  8. When speculation doesn’t exist, do digital currencies still have investment value? It seems like very few people speculate on the difference of exchange rate among countries.
    With less speculation, there will be more of a focus on the actual technology. 2018 and probably 2019 too will be about building blockchain technology and creating solutions to problems, less about speculation.

  9. Given that codes of many gambling games are not open-sourced and unfair, do you think these games are innovative? What your opinion about the next breakthrough?
    Yes, I think the next gaming breakthrough will be multiplayer games. Where you can battle your friends or play against them, would be great to see something like Mahjong on EOS one day.

  10. If the speculation decreases, the user base will be different then, so how can you guarantee the expansion of your user base? The big question right now is the import of new users, in other words, which domain will you go into in the future to get new users?
    New users will come from creating apps that anyone can use. Here in Canada, we have a new EOS dApp called Eva, which is like Uber. This app will be used by many Canadians hopefully, which will expose them to EOS in one way or another. Eventually, the goal is to be using blockchain and EOS, without even realizing it in all parts of life.

  11. What benefits do gambling games bring to EOS ecosystem?
    Gambling games bring a lot of EOS volume, familiarize players to using things like Scatter and also brings a lot of new players from other Blockchains.

  12. When the problem of CPU can be solved? I had hard time for transaction.
    CPU is an ongoing problem that can only ever be truly solved once we have inter blockchain communication (IBC).

  13. What’s the biggest difference between EOS & ETH? Compared to ETH, what’s the biggest advantage of EOS?
    Most DApps that move from ETH to EOS do it because of the very fast TX speed on EOS.

  14. Eos ecosystem also includes E-Commerce. What’s your idea about E-Commerce development in EOS? Did any BP start some projects on it?
    E-commerce is a very interesting market, where you essentially want to have a stablecoin first. Without a stable coin, there can be large fluctuations in price of buying items. There is a new stablecoin USD project on EOS started called http://usde.me. They will use it in their projects, and we will monitor their progress closely.
