Great info! I just bookmarked it to read it properly in a free time. Can anyone with a reliable server become a block producer?

Yes but getting elected is a whole different story; that's primarily what Thomas talks about in this presentation. Any serious block producer on an EOS primary chain will make millions of dollars $USD per year, and the competition for those slots will be very high.

It's indeed a really good video, explains a lot. I'd say everyone having any interest in EOS should watch it. Thanks for sharing.
