Code of Conduct v1.0:

EOS42 published the first draft code of conduct in April, and have integrated the best points from further Block Producer codes that were subsequently published, along with amendments where applicable (such as minimum inflation no longer being a BP decision). We therefore present for the Mainnet Launch our v1.0 Code of Conduct for the community.

Mission statement

EOS42 aim to be the guardians who protect the EOS network. This will be through high performance, reliable network support, investing to enable it to scale, protecting EOS token value and empowering the community to create a healthy and sustainable ecosystem.

Our Principles

Honesty, Integrity and Ethics

EOS42 as a Block Producer will always act with honesty, integrity and apply the highest ethical standards in all aspects of our conduct. This includes abiding be all aspects of the EOS Constitution and Block Producer Agreement, and exceeding those where applicable, which includes never paying voters for support.

Political & Financial Independence

EOS42 will maintain full operational and financial independence at all times. This includes no operational control by any outside investors, and no ownership stake held by any individual or entity that holds vested interest stakes in other EOS.IO block producers. Additionally EOS42 will not collude with other block producers or run more than one BP node within any chain to further strengthen this principle.

High Network Performance

EOS42 will always place the highest priority on investing back into the required network infrastructure and people to enable the EOS network to perform at the highest level and scale effectively.

EOS42 will initiate 6 monthly independent security audits on our EOS blockchain infrastructure to ensure we operate at the highest level of security, and ensure we never compromise EOS blockchains.

EOS42 will provide team and financial transparency that exceeds those required by company law and meets the requirements of the EOS constitution. The EOS42 team and any passive investor structure will also be transparent to the community, and we will always seek to exceed ongoing community requirements as these evolve.

Small, Trusted Team

EOS42 will endeavour to keep the core team small and trusted. This principle of structuring similarly to a Chama will mean that everyone knows everyone, and increase our resilience to threats from internal and external theft and corruption. Our team as members of EOS42 will additionally pay a personal stake into a block producer bond, to ensure there is personal liability for behaviour.

Community Value Add

EOS42 will align our behaviours with the interests of the Community in a variety of ways to add value. Examples will include funding worker proposals, building/supporting dApps that provide a direct value add to the wider ecosystem, and carefully using a portion of block rewards for an EOS42 incubator to fund start-ups and existing businesses moving onto EOS.

Charitable Support

EOS42 will commit a fixed percentage of net profit towards registered charities globally with particular emphasis on third world blockchain education and widening access to opportunities.

Abide By All Arbitration Decisions

EOS42 as a Block Producer will abide by and action all arbitration decisions and ensure these are enacted to provide support to the EOS.IO ecosystem.

Co-operation Never Collusion

EOS42 as a Block Producer will welcome all opportunities to co-operate with other Block Producers that do not compromise our independence. We believe that cooperation is healthy for the whole ecosystem and allows for the completion of tasks with bigger scale. Examples include co-sponsoring events, co-hosting hackathons, and jointly working on dApp projects that will be community owned.

Commitment to Token-holders

EOS42 commit to maintaining an ongoing dialogue with the community wherever conversations are being held, regardless of the size of the stake or the number of tokens held. We commit to listening, understanding, and achieving consensus with the token-holder community, to the best of our abilities in a multilingual fashion.

Earlier today I was on your website and I clicked the 'BP Info' link and I was very concerned when I saw a respected block producer from London incorporated out of the Cayman Islands. I assumed this was for tax avoidance. However, after seeing your full disclosure here, you have earned my respect and vote.

The reason why I am contacting you is to take advantage of your commitment to dialogue with regular token-holders. That is an admirable thing to say and I wish other BP's thought this way.

Anyway, I am an EOS-Holder and I have a serious concern that I would like to bring to the attention of block producers. It's my hope that you will consider my appeal along with your fellow BP's

My Appeal To EOS Block Producers

In the above post, I fully explain my concerns along with a suggested solution. If you feel I am wrong, could you give me an explanation please so I can understand in case I'm missing something.

Thank you for your time. I look forward to hearing from you.
