EOS DApp fails to distribute Tokens

in #eos6 years ago

The decentralized EOS DApp called Trybe recently presented a flaw that ended up wrongly distributing the tokens in more than 100 accounts; the developers of the application decided to recover the tokens that were poorly distributed by entering the wallets of the affected users without any type of authorization.

The amount was equivalent to 8740 TRYBE or what is $ 60 dollars, but even this has caused a stir in the networks for violation of privacy.

Trybe's founder, Tom Norwood, stated the following:

"Although maybe we were a little bit negligent in relying on the [EOS library] to work as it was supposed to work, the fact that it didn’t is not exactly our fault, However, this is very new software, as you are probably aware, and the fact that it doesn’t have more bugs is a miracle in itself."

Among the claims many suggest that the mutability of the application affected the security indices and even the descentralization that is so characteristic of the blockchain and cryptocurrency networks.
