The EOS Foundation Roadmap
At Cypherglass, we recently announced our intention to establish the EOS Foundation: a community-run organization whose initial responsibility will be maintaining the EOS GitHub repository where all of the EOSIO code is stored.
Today, we’re excited to announce our proposed roadmap to ensure there are stewards in place to manage the GitHub repo before the EOS mainnet launch.
- Now — May 30, 2018 // Interim Community Proposals
- We invite the entire EOS community to propose interim stewards of the GitHub repository. Future stewards will be elected directly by EOS token holders through a token-based vote, but initial interim stewards need to be elected to manage the GitHub repo through the mainnet launch.

- May 31, 2018 // Establish the GitHub Repo
- The GitHub repo will be established and the 11 interim stewards will be given control over the management of the repo.
- After Mainnet Launch // Annual Steward Vote
- After the EOS mainnet launches, we will initiate a token-based vote to elect 11 stewards to manage the GitHub repo for the first year. This will be done once the mainnet is stable, the majority of EOS tokens are claimed, and a mechanism is in place to hold a decentralized, token-based vote.
Recommended Criteria
- Have no vested interest or own any part of any past, current or future block producer
- Meet Technical, Economic and Blockchain competency guidelines set forth by the community
Please read the original post here that outlines the position in detail
We sincerely appreciate the support from the community for the EOS Foundation. We are proud to be a part of history in establishing this organization, and look forward to seeing who you propose to manage the GitHub in the interim.

Hi, I've got a bit of feedback. Please take a look at https://steemit.com/eos/@philmesnier/my-2-cents-regarding-an-eosio-foundation
Take it for what its worth, and Thanks!
Thank you Phil, we look forward to reading. Any and all input is greatly appreciated.
‘Have no vested interest or own any part of any past, current or future block producer’. I think this criterion should follow a no more than 10% ownership ideal. In the future, I imagine that strong team projects will tokenize themselves, gain support, and eventually may want to Block Produce. Other entities that may be running for BP role but just don’t have enough support to become one, however they are tokenized because of their strong community projects. When that team does achieve BP, all other BP’s would have to sell down to 10% but wouldn’t have to miss out supporting and participating in their projects entirely.
