Crypto Lion update (5/11/2018)

Jungle Testnet

• There are now OVER A HUNDRED nodes connected to the Jungle Testnet.

• We've produced over FIVE MILLION blocks!

It was Bitfinex's node, "frog" that produced the 5-Millionth block:

• SteemIt user @biteosdev made this cool analysis of node production, and Eugene of @eostribe made this performance monitor.

• Our Bohdan has been experimenting with the slim branch of EOS code to get ahead of the release -- which, as it turns out, happened today!

• Expect huge new features on the Jungle Testnet, including VOTING and Auto-Registration.

Upon registering with the new version of Jungle, EOS code will automatically be loaded and compiled for the BP, the node will be prepared for connecting to the Jungle Testnet, and customized scripts will be auto-generated to easily control your node.

• We'll be testing Dawn 4.0 starting . . . . now, actually.

• We installed greylog to share Jungle Testnet log files with core developers, but it was too much for our existing servers. We rented three more and will attempt to run greylog from this cluster.

Tutorials

• After some self-reflection and conversation, we think one of our strengths is helping onboard BPs and helping to teach them some nuances of EOS. Along these lines, we will make some tutorials accompanying the new features coming to the Jungle Testnet.

Our goal is not to have the latest and greatest versions of everything, but to help orient BPs to the newly released functionality. We think we've made remarkable headway, and want to share our knowledge.

To be honest, our Testnet Monitors' code has become somewhat beastly. It needs some refactoring. If anyone in interested in helping us maintain it, please contact us.

Legal / Business

• Our trip to the notary to open Crypto Lions GmbH in Germany is on hold. Our lawyers wanted more time to review BaFin's requirements.

• We'll be attending Bloxpo 2018 in Stockholm Sweden.

• Our next EOS Meetup will be in Lviv, Ukraine on May 25th or 26th.

• Though we're not able to participate, we thank @eos42 and @eosys for invitations to London and Seoul. Next time, hopefully. We made an intro video for EOSYS.
