EOS: not sure how and why to vote? Proxy your votes!

in #eos5 years ago

EOS governance is a tricky thing and bp voting more and more is not just about block production, but determining the direction of EOS as a whole, and what adaptions to referendum, inflation, REX implementation, dispute resolution etc. are to be made. As you know me, EOS governance has always been my passion, and many articles deal with that topic. So it felt natural to finally setup - together with a bunch of friends and team members - up a proxy:

The Crypto Pilots Voting Proxy

The proxy votes based on these criteria.
Core criteria operations

  • High level block production
  • Regional diversity
  • Financial independence

Core criteria policy making

  • Transparency and open communication
  • Focus on strengthening and building the EOS ecosystem
  • Focus to balance freedom and prevention of fraud, abuse and other harm to the network.

We will regularly evaluate those criteria, and see how bps rank and evaluate voting.

If you want to vote for us, set pilotsvoting as your proxy!

How to set a proxy?

There are ton's of ressources on how to do it, i would recommend using scatter, as it auto-updates your vote every 7 days, so this way you don't need to constantly renew your votes. To do so, select the EOS keys of the account you want to set the proxy:

  1. Click Proxy Votes

  2. Enter Proxy (leave auto-renewal enabled):

Excellent work @conceptskip. There are few people I trust more than you to pick quality BP's.

There is....? More than one? Even a few....?

OK...just you. ;-)

Awww... i knew it!

Go CryptoPilots! :)

Mhm.. will still be used the proxies? I think the majority of not used EOS will go to REX

Certainly even more so, because REX allows for proxies as well.

I can't think of a better person to trust with my EOS voting @conceptskip. Thanks for the tip on auto-renewal - I have to go back and check that's enabled.

Thx @gordonbuckley, highly appreciated, will do my best. And yest, the auto renewal is very handy, looking at some proxies stats, vote decay sometimes goes into the 20%

investingwad, any time!

He's certainly a good choice too, no doubt....

I would certainly vote in favor of only having vote decay on the level of individual voters. If a proxy is in charge, they should be able to renew the vote for all of their voters.

Ultimately, the D in DPOS stands for delegated right?

One day...

Yeah voters decay is such a nuisance!
