Check out the post I wrote recently about EOS.
There is a theory going around that EOS will flash crash Ethereum when it releases June 30. EOS owns 10% of all Ethereum tokens. Block.One may choose to dump all their Ether coins to buy back EOS from the initial investors. This would crash Ethereum and pump EOS hard, likely pushing it to the #2 coin on the market cap with ease.
Interesting thought... I will check your post. Doesn't seem fair that EOS is using Ethereum for distribution, without ETH the crowdsale would be hindered.

EOS is definitely an interesting platform and you can't argue about Dan Larimer's. However there is probably too much hype around EOS and the air drop right now so probably best to wait a bit and let the dust settle.
