Major turnout as BitSpace hosts first EOS meetup in Scandinavia

Several participants had to stand as BitSpace’ recently held EOS meetup attracted immense interest from the public. Representing multiple companies, the speakers at Scandinavia’s first EOS event, hosted at the Radisson Plaza Blu Hotel in the middle of Oslo, gave the attendees extensive insight about both the technicals and the background of Dan Larimer’s mammoth blockchain project.

The event started off with a 2-hour networking session with food and drinks for people in the Norwegian crypto space to connect with each other and with the people participating from abroad.

The first speaker was BitSpace co-founder Christian Lains, who gave the backstory of Dan Larimer’s journey through BitShares and Steemit, to EOS, explaining Larimer’s vision for what has by far become his biggest project yet. After Christian’s introduction, BitSpace developer Paul Thomas Clarke gave an account of the EOS architecture on a technical level.

Later, we had the privilege of welcoming Jakub Zarembinski on stage, the CTO and co-founder of the Poland-based EOS incubator Tokenika. Jakub was flown in from Warsaw together with the rest of Tokenika, and took us through how smart contracts will work on EOS in the future.

The final talk on the schedule was by Henning Rokling, founder of Parsec Frontiers, who gave a fascinating insight into how MMOs (massively multiplayer online games) can be built on a real blockchain and give the players the opportunity to earn real economic value.

As a bonus, the event was rounded off with a special announcement, namely that Harmonychain and BitSpace had joined forces to create the new project Etheos (read the full press release here).
