EOS Airdrop for EOX - Is it a scam?

The community seems to think this is a little dodgy, so let's take a look.

To claim the free airdropped tokens, you need to register your email address along with your EOS public key. That is not too scary on the surface, but it suggests that they either do not have the technical know how to take a snapshot of the Ethereum network or do not have the time. Neither of these are particularly good options in my opinion as other dApps that have airdropped tokens have asked given a straightforward requirement, have your EOS address registered with the EOS smart contract on the Ethereum network.

Their website is https://www.eoxlab.io, and the first thing that smells off is their logo (above), hold up, that looks very familiar, here is the logo for Apple's Mac OS x

hmm, ok that is a little suspect, but let's dig deeper. They claim to be an e-commerce site that will accept EOS as payment, who the heck would use EOS to buy goods, that is not what EOS is designed for and the only winner here would be them, besides there are plenty of currency based projects out there for that.

Furthermore, the products they have listed on their site (these may just be examples as it does say demo), look like something you would find in a yard sale, not the best impression to give off.

Maybe I am being a little too harsh, take a look for your self and let me know what you think?

Lol....NOPE! Seems sketchy to me. Just seems like a way to advertise their store and facilitate rewarding for word of mouth through reddit, twitter and medium.

In the store page they have a picture of Brad Pitt and 150,000 views and $12,500 earned from selling ramen, fidget spinners and misc other crap? No thanks... unless we get a reputable thumbs up on this I'm not wasting my time or risking my security.

I have a feeling is a scam, why did EOSdrop.io not filter this sites???

I do not know for sure but it seems that the site is not maintained too well.

I guess they just grabbed as much info as possible, throw it up on the site and walked away. I will email them to get some more clarification and let you know.
